Families looking for a part-time Montessori opportunity for their children have a new option. Beginning this fall, Hilltop Montessori School will offer a flexible Adolescent Montessori program for children ages 12 to 15.
We invite students and families interested to a “come and see” experience on Tuesday, August 19, at 11 a.m.
Email Rebekah Feeley at [email protected] to RSVP for Tuesday’s experience or to inquire more about this exciting new opportunity.
What Is a Montessori Adolescent Program?
An Adolescent Montessori program serves children ages 12-15, and 15-18 as the children move through these times of incredible growth. The Program helps children find their place in the world. Children in this plane of development are looking to establish themselves as a new person. They ask questions about who they are, and what it means to be a person in the world. In a world very confused about identity, this program helps them think carefully and truthfully about who they are, what is their vocation, and how they can make an impact.

They seek meaningful work that they can share with the world. They seek to build skills that can then become occupations. They seek assistance and guidance from adults who are not their parents in learning how to be an adult.
Adolescent Montessori exists to provide all of this, and through it to help them learn the lessons in all of the academic subjects that they need to thrive.
How Our Program Will Work
Students will begin with a 2.5- to 3-day schedule each week. A full three days will allow students to participate in the Occupations class, which is a vital component of Adolescent Montessori work.
If students and their families show interest and readiness, we are ready to extend the program to four-days per week by the end of the year.

To be sure, a Montessori Adolescent Program is meant to be a full five-day program. The full program provides the deepest developmental and educational benefits of Montessori. A full program remains our our long-term vision, but we are happy to offer this modified version to help families see what being part of this community of learners could look like.
Supporting Families, Overcoming Obstacles
We know logistics can be challenging, especially transportation. To make things easier, one of the parents at our school has volunteered to coordinate a carpool and do a majority of the driving.
Program Details
The part-time program includes a humanities seminar taught by Mr. Christopher Chapman, Mathematics taught by Mr. Thomas Crowe, and sciences taught by Miss Micaela Forero. Because of the reduced schedule some individual work may need to be completed at home.
- Tuition: $2,500
- Tuition Reduction Opportunities: Students participating in Occupations may have the chance to earn funds toward tuition and materials through project work.

Try It Out
To help your family experience what this could look like, we’re hosting a try it out experience on Tuesday, August 19th at 11am. This will be a relaxed, welcoming time for prospective students (and their families) to meet one another, interact with our adult guides, and get a taste of the program environment.
If you’d like to join us, or simply want to learn more about the new enrollment option, we would love to hear from you.
Together, we hope this new format offers your family a bridge into the life-giving work of Montessori adolescence.
